'Revenant' tells of Gu San Yeong (Kim Tae Ri), a public prosecutor who has been preparing for the grade 9 civil service exam. The woman is suddenly possessed by a demon.
"Revenant" has started its premiere since last June 23. The replacement drama "Dr. Romantic 3", starring Kim Tae Ri, Oh Jung Se, and Hong Kyung, received a positive response from the audience.
"Revenant" tells about Gu San Yeong (Tae Ri), a public prosecutor who has been preparing for the grade 9 civil service exam. He gets entangled in mysterious things after receiving his late father's belongings.
One of them was when San Yeong was possessed by a demon. As soon as "Revenant" aired, many became curious about the demon that possessed the woman. The demon in San Yeong's body is considered a traditional Korean ghost "Taejagwi (Saetani)".
"Taejagwi" refers to the ghost of a baby who starved to death after being abandoned by his parents or the shaman who brought the ghost. People also know him as "Taeju", "Myeongdo" or "Saetani".

Shamans who receive the spirit of "Taejagwi" make the sounds, facial expressions and gestures of children during fortune-telling. A scholar of Silhak (a scholar who studies practical matters) in the Joseon Dynasty named Yi Ik also revealed how the demon was summoned.
According to "Seonghosaseol" written by Yi Ik, some evil shamans steal other people's children, put food in front of the children when they cry and faint from hunger, then purposely kill them to make "Taejagwi".
This job is called "Yeommae". Unlike "Taejagwi" in general, "Taejagwi" born through "Yeommae" is an "evil spirit" that specializes in hurting people. While listening to people's wishes, they develop negative emotions and end up taking over the body of the person they enter.
Meanwhile, "Revenant" started broadcasting with a high rating of 9.9 percent (episode 1) and 10 percent (second broadcast). With the positive response from the audience, this drama is likely to continue to increase in ratings. (wk/charity)
