Boy group ZEROBASEONE's (ZB1) contract with WakeOne will expire in five months, but the decision regarding a contract extension remains a big question for fans.
The group, consisting of Kim Gyuvin, Kim Jiwoong, Seok Matthew, Han Yujin, Zhang Hao, Sung Hanbin, Kim Taerae, Ricky, and Park Gunwook, was formed through the Boys Planet program in April 2023 and officially debuted on July 10, 2023.
With a 2.5-year contract, their contract is expected to expire in January 2026.
WakeOne released an official statement on August 12th, revealing that they highly value ZEROBASEONE's potential and growth.
"Since the beginning of the year, we have been in continuous discussions with each of the members' agencies regarding the possibility of extending the group's active period," said a WakeOne representative.
This uncertainty has kept fans, known as ZEROSE, closely monitoring the news.
Many hope the group will continue their activities together, given ZB1's impressive achievements for such a young group, both in terms of album sales and international popularity.
Previously, leader Sung Hanbin gave a brief glimpse at the press conference for the release of their fifth mini-album, "BLUE PARADISE," in February.
He stated that the members often discuss their future plans together, and that the most important thing for them is to provide the best performances and work for their fans.
This statement was warmly welcomed by ZEROSE, who is optimistic about the group's future.
Meanwhile, Kim Taerae expressed her gratitude and happiness for ZB1's journey thus far. /Source: NAVER, Newsen
